Multi-Crore drug racket: Bikram Majitha questioned by ED; BJP students’ wing activists stage protest against Majithia

Jalandhar: Punjab minister Bikram Majithia today (Dec. 26) appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) with regard to a multi-million rupee international synthetic drugs racket busted last year. Bikram Majithia, who was summoned by ED, appeared at its office in Jalandhar for questioning in connection with alleged money laundering drugs case.

Bikram-majithiaThe ED has been probing an international drug racket, which was unearthed with the arrest of an NRI, Anoop Singh Kahlon, by the Fatehgarh Sahib Police in March 2013 and Bikram Majithia’s name came under the scanner after statements were recorded of other accused in the case.

Punjab minister who is close relative of Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal said that he will extent ‘full cooperation’ to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in this case.

BJP Students’ wing activists stage protest

BJP students’ wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists demonstrated outside ED’s office against the revenue minister.

The activists said they will continue with their protests till the minister resigns.

ABVP activists also accused Punjab chief minister of shielding Bikram Majithia.
