Demand for Ban on Nanak Shah Fakir Movie: Delhi Govt. forward concerns to L-G

New Delhi, India: Controversial movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ might come under hammer in Delhi following the two months delay on its release in Punjab and Chandigarh. Various Sikh organizations united under the banner of United Sikh Mission (USM) are active to compel Delhi Government to ban the release of this movie.

Sikh bodies were in contact with MLA Jarnail Singh and Jagdeep Singh. Jarnail Singh said that it was a sensitive issue. He urged Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to recommend ban on the movie.

As per information the Arvind Kejriwal has sent a written request to Lieutenant- Governor (L-G) recommending ban on the movie. Like other states, Deputy Governor of Delhi state holds the right to ban those movies that might cause disturbance in society. Article 13 of Cinematography law privilege him with this right.
