Ludhiana: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leader and Punjab’s Education minister, Dr. Daljit Cheema met Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa at the DMC Hospital in Ludhiana yesterday. As per reports SAD (B) leader discussed the release of some Sikh political prisoners with Bapu Surat Singh and his leaders.

According to Sikh24: the Government has agreed to the transfer and parole release of Bhai Waryam Singh and 5 other prominent prisoners languishing in jails.

It may be recalled here that Waryam Singh was arrested in April of 1990 and charged under the TADA Act. He has been detained in the Bans-Bareilly Jail in Uttar Pradesh.
