Bhai Kanwarpal Singh Dhami acquitted of Sedition charges in a 2006 case

Mohali/ SAS Nagar: A Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (SAS Nagar) court yesterday (on Dec. 24) acquitted Guru Asra Trust (Mohali) chief Bhai Kanwar Pal Singh Dhami, in an eight years old case involving charges of ‘sedition’ under section 124-A of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The case was registered against Kanwarpal Singh Dhami after Zee News broadcasted it’s docu-drama titled ‘Desh Droh’ on March 08, 2006.

The court of Judicial magistrate Shiv Mohan found that there were no evidence to support charges against Bhai Kanwar Pal Singh Dhami; as a result the court acquitted Bhai Kanwar Pal Singh Dhami.
