SEATTLE, USA — The third volume of the historical book series, “Kaurnama-3: June 84 Shri Darbar Sahib ‘ch Shaheed Bibiyan di Gatha” (The Saga of Martial Women in Sri Darbar Sahib during June ’84), has been officially released in the United States, following its successful launches in Punjab, Germany, and Canada.

The book was unveiled last Sunday during a martyrdom congregation (Shahidi Samagam) dedicated to Bhai Paramjit Singh Panjwar in Seattle, Washington. The launch was carried out by prominent personalities associated with the Sikh struggle amidst the echoing chants of Sikh slogans (Jaikaras).
Sikh history is replete with bravery, sacrifices, and martyrdom, where women (Bibiyan) have contributed immensely alongside men. During the Sikh freedom struggle in the final decades of the 20th century, women displayed extraordinary warrior spirit, patience, and devotion through their sacrifices and martyrdom.

The initiative to document the pivotal role of women in this historic struggle began a few years ago under the inspiration of Bhai Paramjit Singh Panjwar. Following his martyrdom, this preservation work has continued uninterrupted for the past three years under the patronage of Panthic leader Bhai Daljit Singh.
The Kaurnama series timeline includes:
-
Kaurnama-1: Released in May 2024 on the first martyrdom anniversary of Bhai Panjwar.
-
Kaurnama-2: Released in May 2025.
-
Kaurnama-3: Released in May 2026.
The book series is authored by journalist and writer Baljinder Singh Kotbhara, with active collaboration from Sikh struggle companions residing in Europe.
The high-profile book launch in Seattle was well-attended by key representatives from various Sikh organizations, including the Sikh Federation America, Sikh Youth of America, the Gurdwara Sahib management committee, and other active Sikh groups.
