Ropar: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has reportedly lodged a police complaint demanding action against those who pasted posters in the district blaming Delhi Chief Minister and party convener Arvind Kejriwal for the demolition of Bhai Mati Dass Chhabil near Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi and equating it with Indian Army’s attack on Darbar Sahib.
The posters were found pasted at different places in Punjab on May 20.
AAP legal cell convener Himmat Singh Shergill along with district convener Gurmail Singh Bara, state committee member Bhag Singh Madan and volunteers submitted a written complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). He said presenting false facts through posters was an attempt of party’s political adversaries to malign its image.

He said the Akhand Kirtani Jatha, in whose name the posters were pasted by unidentified persons, had already denied its hand in the incident.
Shergill alleged that the ruling party, frustrated over the increasing popularity of AAP in the state, was behind the controversy.
He added that the list of party candidates for the 2017 Assembly elections would be declared within two months.
