New Delhi, India (March 12, 2014): As per information the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) celebrated “Fateh Divas” to mark victory of Sikh warrior leader Baba Baghel Singh over Delhi in 1783. The Fateh Divas celebrations were held on March 08 and 09.
The DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK said the Fateh Diwas was organised in memory of Baba Baghel Singh who had conquered Delhi during the reign of Mughal King Shah Alam in March 1783 and unfurled a Nishan Sahib at Red Fort.
Various local Sikh bodies had jointly approached DSGMC to take initiative to mark the “Fateh Diwas”.
Punjab’s Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal, chief of Akal Takhat Sahib Gyani Gurbachan Singh, chief of Patna Sahib Gyani Iqbal Singh and former MP Tarlochan Singh were among the dignitaries who attended the Fateh Diwas celebrations.
